In Yongning, Xiaolan, Zhongshan, a century-old longan tree stands at the former home of the scientist Yang Canqian. His children repaired the house and gave it to the community, naming it Qianchun from their parents’ names. The old house is kept as a small exhibition of the study and living room. Beside it, a restrained Qianchun reading room holds more than 2,000 science books for self-service borrowing, and a studio supports exhibitions and public classes. The aim is not a photo spot, but a community room where an old memory can keep growing.
