The idea is separate but connected. The owner’s existing villa was joined to the house behind it so a son returning from abroad could live next door. A glass link and a sunny dining room connect the two. Service rooms take the lesser aspect; living, dining and bedrooms take the view. One house is the parents’ main home, with living room and bar facing the garden. The other is the son’s, with a 22-metre pool, two outdoor sitting rooms and both Chinese and Western kitchens. Simple European rooms meet a more contemporary luxury, joined at the link.
