A thousand years ago, boats traveled ceaselessly along the Huai River. The Li Canal continues to flow today, carrying the memory of Huai'an's prosperous grain-transport culture. Drawing on the outlines of the river and its transport vessels, the design uses abstract installations to hold the shimmer of water and evoke the enduring spirit of the city of canals.
